Wendy - We originally read their brochure after picking one up in a shopping mall. That was almost 20 years ago. We tent camped there in August 2003.

Campground Review

I think this is a great campground because it is a family run business, and therefore the activities are also family oriented. The campground and surrounding area are kept very clean. They have both a pool and lakefront beach for swimming. There are several playgrounds for the children, an athletic field for softball, baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, etc. They also have horseshoe and bocci ball pits, as well as a shuffleboard court.

Their game room features two pool tables, a jukebox, and video arcade games. Their movie lounge is open every evening showing feature-length films. They also offer ceramics, bingo, and other activities for all ages to enjoy. On occasion they also have dances with live DJs. Many of the families camp there year after so you can look forward to visiting your summer friends on an annual basis. You can also bring family pets, so you don't need to find a kennel or sitter before you leave for vacation.

There is a camp store and snack stand too, good for picking up forgotten items as well as satisfying the munchies! I would highly recommend Keen Lake to anyone interested in camping, from novice to the more seasoned camper. To me, it's not summer until we've gone camping at Keen Lake!

Keen Lake is a beautiful campground. It's clean and manicured very nice. It's not a heavy wooded area and the land is flat, which makes it nicer. We stayed at the Pioneer area near the lake which is beautiful. The best part was being able to rent a canoe or boat and bring it to your site on the lake and leave it there if need be. The minus which to me was a big minus is that we had selfish campers next to our site that had the loudest music ever in a campsite playing until 4:00 a.m. (what happened to quiet hours) I thought I was at a rave with that loud techno music. They were yelling, singing loud and it sounded like banging on some thing hard (like a pot) until 4:00 a.m. We called the office and complained in the morning when the office opened. Some one came down and asked them to stop being loud. The extremely loud partiers argued back with the staff and asked who told on them. The staff advised that it was anonymous. They absolutely had no respect for any other camper at that site. They basically went camping to smoke their hookah and act like savages! No respect for anyone. They came to party and they partied and gave no one peace and quite (NOT EVEN at quite time). They drove around the area like maniacs they didn't care that there were children playing. The office staff were friendly but the campers all around not so friendly. I don't think that I will return here again although it's a beautiful place i'd rather go to an ok place that's peaceful, quiet and friendly with respectful people. Then to be tortured by people who camp to party rather then enjoy family time and nature! Also, every time security came around the loud campers would hurry up and lower their very loud music and turn it back up as soon as security left. It was horrible not being able to sleep!!! They continued to party the following nights as well.
