papabear - I'm a season pass holder to this park, and I tent camped there in July 2003.
Campground Review
One of the best kept secrets in the state of Maine has to be Mt. Blue State Park. With a varied day program for the kids, ATV and hiking trails, a beach and boat launch area, it is one of the better parks in the state park system. Panning for gold in the Swift River is one of the activities in which you can participate. "There's gold in them thar hills," and I have a small flake of it as proof.
They have over 180 wooded sites. They offer no hook-ups, but as a tent camper, I don't use them. The bath house is always spotless and has what seems like an endless supply of hot water for the showers. Definitely two thumbs up!
