NCcamper - I was looking for parks in the mountains and came across references to this on the Internet. I tent camped there in May 2003.

Campground Review

I think this is a great campground because there is a lot to do here. There are miles and miles of mountain biking trails. There is a stocked fishing lake with lots of brook, brown, and rainbow trout. You'll need a license and trout stamp. You can swim in the lake, and there are miles of hiking trails. The campground is located in a national forest. The French Broad River is located nearby, and all the other stuff to do in/near Asheville. This campground is probably second to the Davidson River campground located about 30 minutes away.

Great PlaceAugust 24, 2009By McNellyw
"Very quiet place staff is wonderful, I had a mild heart attack and was taken to the Hospital after 9 pm the Hosts went out of their way to help me and assist my wife and daughter to break down camp the next day while I was hospitalized. My wife said that all of the hosts were so kind and concerned. I can not see us going anywhere else but there."
