Warren - I don't really remember, but I think we got the name out of a Tennessee Camping Guide, and I've RV camped there the last 14 years.
Campground Review
We started camping at Tremont Hills when our youngest daughter was 3. She will be 17 when we return this summer. Over the years this has been one of the very few things our kids (3 of them) have always agreed on. Three summers ago, we decided as a family to go on a cruise. On Thursday of the cruise our children got together with my wife and I, and they said how much they had enjoyed the week, but that from now on they didn't want to give up their week at Tremont Hills for anything. So, the tradition continues. Although two of our children are now away in college and building their own lives, time is always set aside in their schedules for our "summer escape" to Tremont.
The atmosphere is that of a family. Year after year you see the same workers at the campground, and even though they are hired help they consider Tremont their home, as most of them live in the campground as campers. The pool is great, and the river that runs through the campground is one of the best tubing rivers in the southeast. Cades Cove is only 15 minutes away, and Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge only 30 minutes away.
Bottom line, there isn't a better place in the mountains to camp, period! Ask our three kids who have practically grown up camping there.
