Don - I found this campground by accident. While traveling in Monroe County, I saw the signs and went to investigate. I RV camped there in March 1996.

Campground Review

The campground is located on the east bank of the Alabama River at Claiborne Lock and Dam. It is deep in the woods and away from any highway noise or other distractions. It is ideal for those who wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The campsites are secluded. Peace and solitude are the order of the day. There are nature trails, boat launching areas, picnic tables and pavilions, and plenty of room to ride your bicycles. The Monroe County Heritage Museum has a branch in the old Corps of Engineers office building adjacent to the dam site where there are many interesting items on display.
