Clint - I live in the area and visit this campground often. I RV camped there in May 2003.

Campground Review

Our family goes here quite often. I would guess we have been there at least a dozen times in the last few years. It is a clean park with many areas that are set more off to themselves. There is plenty for the children to do: biking, hiking, nature trails, archery, fishing, playgrounds, etc. Park rangers ride around throughout the night to keep an eye on things, so security is good. There has always been enough wood for our family to build campfires. The bathrooms are older and we have seen a spider or two, but we don't consider that a big deal. They have a crew of city workers that come in and high power hose down the showers with disinfectant and clean the bathrooms every morning. Dogs are allowed. We have seen raccoon, geese that flew over every evening, ducks, turtles, fish, deer, rabbits, etc. The city park is next door with beautiful gardens, a tourism center and museum, a nature trail, and a lake where you can feed the ducks. Sometimes they have had injured or orphaned animals in a small area that we have been able to view as well. It is a great campground with reasonable rates.
