Gary - I found this campground via both the KOA Internet site and AAA Campgrounds booklet, and I tent camped there in June 1996.
Campground Review
The location off I-95 and the highway leading directly east from the Amtrak Auto Train station in Lorton places this campground perfectly close to the John F. Kennedy Space Center. It is within an hour of the Orlando area. Within the campground there is a camp store, a laundry, and an in-ground pool, which is as warm as bath water in the summer sun. The campsites are nice. The area to pitch a tent was flat and a little bit sandy. The owners provided accurate information about access roads to the space center, as I previously had a NASA access pass to get on the grounds for a shuttle launch. I had a relaxing time the days I had off, and educational as well. Something to think about when you have children.
