Campground Review

Friends and I are always looking for a new place to try. We always drive to a new place in our van to check it our. At Kentucky Horse Park you can go over to where the horses are kept, and they put on shows. The grounds and facilities are beautiful. There are no trails, but there are plenty of places to walk. There is also a camp store that has a lot of items that you usually do not find at most campgrounds. Usually it is very hard to get a campsite because of the many dog and horse shows. We have not been able to get in so far this year. We're hitting all of the shows.

no cancellation allowance in case of emergency, Member catlion

We had a reservation to stay here in July, 2011, but before we were to arrive there we were staying at a campground in Rock Island, IL. It was while we were in Illinois that we found out that our 2010 Jayco motor home had some electrical problems that were a fire hazard and we had to take it into a shop. We called the horse park to let them know the situation and tell them we wouldn't make it for our reservation, because we were stuck in Illinois with our RV in the shop for a fire hazard. They still charged us a cancellation fee, which was 1/3 of the price it would have cost us to stay one night there, even though there was nothing we could do about the situation and we told them we would send in the receipts to prove we couldn't make it in because our RV was a fire hazard.
