Ray - I was born and raised within ten miles of Harrison Lake, and I have traveled back as often as possible. I watched the campgrounds being built.

Campground Review

This is a local recreational area. Most of the visitors are from within two or three hundred miles. I think it's still a matter of pride to the locals and certainly to the state. It has always been well kept and clean, and the staff are friendly, helpful, and courteous. The unique history of the lake and the surrounding area are colorful and interesting. I have fished virtually every foot of Harrison Lake as a boy and as an adult. No summer military leave was complete without a visit to the lake with my rod and reel. For my part, because this has always been my hometown campground and I have watched its transformation, it will always be special and great. However, its unique setting in the midst of corn, wheat, and soybean fields give it a peaceful rural atmosphere that is pleasant and relaxing to anyone. I would recommend it to anyone traveling east, and frequently do. I hope to make the 2000 mile trip back in the not too distant future myself.
