Kristine - I found out about Groveland Oaks from friends that had camped there many times, and they always had good things to say about the place. I tent camped there in July 2004.
Campground Review
Groveland Oaks is such a great getaway for the whole family. One of the attractions of this park is the short distance from home, and yet once inside the park we felt as if we were far away. The atmosphere is very relaxing and enjoyable. The sheriff's department is always patrolling, so I felt safe as well. There are so many things for the whole family to do. My son really enjoyed renting the bikes. I thought they were a little costly at $5 per half hour, but the water slide and boat rentals were very reasonable and such great fun. The beach was well-maintained, and the whole park was very clean. The best part was there were no bugs at all. We plan on going back to Groveland Oaks again this summer, and I highly recommend this park to anyone.
