Pam - I found this campground driving through many years ago while returning home, and I tent camped there in April 2002.

Campground Review

The contrasts in nature found at Inks Lake State Park are beautiful. Views of the cactus, colored rocks, rolling hills, and deer are amazing. The campsites are good sized and clean. In April of 2002 while preparing our dinner on the campfire around dusk we heard a roaring sound (kind of like a train in the distance.) A few minutes later we could barely see what seemed to be motorcycles through the brush. Then came at least 50 motorcycles around the bend. We found out this was an annual cycle run. They passed just outside our campgrounds. What a treat. Also just outside our campground are large mounds of rocks by the water where you can sit and look up at the moon. And the trails! We'll be going again this coming October, and we can't wait for the beauty and solitude. And, if we like, we can easily drive into Austin to eat Mexican food. You can't beat Inks Lake State Park.
