Debra - We found this campground on the Missouri State Parks Web site. We were looking for something close to St. Louis, and Babler State Park fit the bill. I tent camped there in July 2004.

Campground Review

Babler State Park is so beautiful and peaceful, yet just a short drive on the Interstate from downtown St. Louis. There are 13 miles of hiking trails, an Olympic-sized pool, stables and horseback trails, a softball field, and volleyball court. Babler State Park provided a perfect home base for our family while we visited and played in the St. Louis area this summer.

The park also provides experiences for persons with special needs at the Jacob L. Babler Outdoor Education Center, a barrier-free resident camp with swimming pool, cabins, and recreation and dining halls.

Great camping right outside St. Louis, Member pioneergirl1904

As a former state park employee, I have camped at many of Missouri's State Parks. Babler has to be one of the best. They have accommodations for group camps, tent and RV camping. There are also great horse and walking trails. Get away for a weekend, and visit Babler! It is also a short drive from Missouri's Historic First State Capitol, St. Charles, MO.
