Debbie - I found out about this campground by word-of-mouth, and I RV camped here in July 2004.

Campground Review

This campground has many well organized activities for families of all ages. Though the resort is rather large and can get crowded, we loved our neighbors, and we made many new friends. Another big plus is how clean the bathhouses are kept even with so many campers. I also loved the fact that the ranger station stops every single car and checks for valid passes. I feel so safe letting my children roam free to enjoy the fishing, crabbing, pools, arcade, mini-golf, and movies. It's the first campgound I've ever been to that had an adults-only pool. It also has a pool that is considered a child's pool but was purposely designed for handicapped people. You can wheel a wheel chair right into the pool and sit under a shaded gazabo in the water. Despite the crowds the park is especially clean and beautifully landscaped. They even had their own fireworks that rival any I've seen. My children don't want to go anywhere else. They have a local certified RV tech available that does warranty work and anything from air conditioners to generators and hot water heaters. It's by far the best campground I've ever been to.

VERY DISAPPOINTEDAugust 03, 2009By gigimichaelides
"We have had several people recommend Cherry Stone. As far as the wonderful surroundings of the Bay, the campground itself was horrible. They pack you in like sardines. The restrooms were absolutely disgusting, feces on the floors/walls of the toilet areas, toilet tissue everywhere. The floors were wet at all times. There were no slip resistant mats near the shower or in high traffic areas. The restrooms were cleaned twice a day but at the rate this camp ground is bringing in money, they need to keep a representative/employee there at all times. There are over 700 sites, they need to spend some money in updating or better maintaining what they have. The General Store, Bait & Tackle Shop were very nice. I think the campground needs to get a better handle on people supervising their children. People just let their children rome everywhere and anywhere. It is very difficult to drive your car to certain areas because of the children cutting out in front of your vechicle from every direction. This is an accident waiting to happen. Also, no fire rings at the sites. People who cook over open fires need to be aware of this because you find yourself scrambling to find means of cooking from the ground up. Adult pool, broken umbrellas sitting around. I feel this campground would be absolutely nothing without the surroundings of the Bay. Someone has definately gotten rich from this facility and not returned it to what could be a much better facility. They advertise Water Park, what water Park? Never go back!!"
