Bernadette - I found this campground on the Maryland State Park Web site, and I tent camped there in July 2004.

Campground Review

Point Lookout has the most spacious sites I have ever encountered. There are lots of tall pine trees for shade and lots of ground growth in between sites as well as long driveways back to the tent sites. Also, we were there in the middle of July during the week and practically had the entire loop to ourselves. There's a pier you can crab off of Lake Conoy and a short drive (about 1 mile) or bike ride and you have the Chesapeake Bay on one side of you and the Potomac River on the other side. It's absolutely beautiful.
