Tracy Jean - I found this campground by searching the Internet, and I tent camped there in August 2004.
Campground Review
This is a campground with tons to do. It has six different areas each with different possibilities. Some areas are just for day use, some have cabin and tent camping, and some have spaces for RVs. The park features fishing, flat-water and whitewater canoeing, hiking trails, hunting, equestrian trails, picnicking, nature and history study, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing. They have a great Web site with information on everything, and the rangers are wonderful about answering questions when you call. The rangers are present at the campground, but they are not intrusive. The shower house is kept well cleaned and supplied. The tent sites are well maintained, and they have different size campsites to fit everyone. There is a camp store in one of the areas, but it isn't always open. There are lots of stores and restaurants close by, if you've forget something or decide you want to eat away from campground. One of the best things about Patapsco Valley is the swinging bridge in the Avalon-Glen Artney-Orange Grove area. It spans the Patapsco Valley River, and it offers a great view.
