Cathy - Some friends brought us here for our first camping trip in the fall of 2004. We tent camped there in June 2005. This was our second trip, and both times we had a great experience.

Campground Review

This campground is great for families and beginning campers. It has a nature center that puts on a campfire show on Saturday nights. It also has a guided nature walk on Sunday mornings. The park rangers are very knowledgeable and friendly. Each site in the campground has a fire pit and a grill. There are several places to get water throughout the campground. There is a building with flush toilets, running water, lights, and showers. No pets are allowed, but there is another campground in this park for people to camp with their horses. I heard that there are over 30 miles of trails. Some are easy and some are more difficult, and many of them allow horseback riders. It's easy to get to, but far enough from the city lights that you can see the stars.

Worst Campground in Southern California, Member B0BAL00

The campground is literally 50 yards from California Highway 74 and the never-ending parade of trucks, cars, and motorcycle traffic lasted all night long. The campground itself was overrun by a large group of noisy partiers who played loud oom-pah music until 3:30 AM along with loud drunken laughter and howling until 4:30 AM. Not a single ranger was seen all day or night to control the drinking and carrying on. Then our campsite was invaded by a large flock of screeching blackbirds at 6:00 AM. No sleep all night! The portable outhouse was filled to the brim and had toilet paper strewn all over the place. No one takes care of this place. It is the worst campground I've ever stayed at. Avoid it at all costs!
