Ken - I found this campground browsing through a Department of Natural Resources book published to promote Illinois state parks, and I RV camped there in June 2005.

Campground Review

This campground is well used due to popularity, but it is very well maintained. It is in an old strip mine area so it is hilly with many ponds for fishing. The scenery is nice when touring the whole park. Bathhouses, restrooms, and pit toilets were all very clean. I was warned in other reviews about bugs, but I found there to be very few because summer is extremely dry this year. We are returning over Labor Day this year, and I would highly recommend Kickapoo State Park to anyone.
