Campground Review

I think this is a great campground because it's a beautiful setting and a great get-away. You can enjoy the gorgeous, scenic covered bridge or float lazily along the river in canoes. It's a neat area for paddle boats also. You can take an exhilarating hike in the woods, which is a challenging 2.5 mile adventure, or hike a less difficult (but so pretty) path along the river. There are sites for tents and trailers located in a circle with an inner ring. For the best site, stay away from an inner ring location. There is a clean, conveniently located bath house with showers and laundry facilities. Park rangers make frequent runs through the campground for a sense of added security. Although noted as a park where horseback riding is available, you should note that it means only if you have your own horse. There are no rentals. There is a nice ranger station with ice machine, drink machine, and bathrooms. The rangers on site were very friendly and helpful. It has a family atmosphere, which can mean a lot of kids if that is an issue with you. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend Watson Mill Bridge State Park.
