neater - I found this campground when a friend was staying in the RV sites, and I joined her. I stayed there in a yurt in March 2006.
Campground Review
As I don't like tenting and haven't yet purchased an RV, I was very pleased that Campfire Lodgings had cabins and yurts. I had always wanted to stay in one. However, I think I have been spoiled forever for other campgrounds. The yurt is set off slightly from the campground, and you see only trees and beautiful vistas. The yurt had a small kitchenette, a wonderful bathroom, and a very Zen-like bed area surrounded by windows including a skylight directly over the bed. The bed....now I could go on forever about the wonderful memory foam mattress. While the temperature dropped into the low 20's, I was toasty and warm due to the gas log fireplace across from the bed. Before I left home, near Atlanta, my staff was teasing me about staying in a tent. I called them and said, "you should be so lucky." The campground itself is lovely, neat, clean, and secluded on top of a mountain with amazing views of the North Carolina mountains and valleys. The view looks like a postcard of North Carolina. The only negative? I didn't want to come home.
