Jinnifer - I have been camping there since I was a kid, and I tent camped there in June 2006.
Campground Review
This camping area is great for children and adults. There are picnic tables at each campsite. There is a beach on the river for swimming, and there is great fishing. There are playgrounds and paved roads so kids can ride their bikes. Showers and restrooms are all over the park for convenience. Trails are everywhere along the river. The kids really enjoyed the trails. Wild life is abundant. On our most recent trip we encountered skunks and raccoons. I have never been that close to a skunk, and I was really hoping he wouldn't spray, or it would have ruined our night, quite possibly our whole trip. The raccoons really wanted our food, but they didn't get any (all of it was in totes). If you want to go for just the day, it has a day use area also. It has a tennis court, ball field, basketball and volleyball courts. Campers can also use this area. It has a lodge, and they also have cabins, which are really nice. This campground has everything you need. All you have to bring is food and clothes. I stayed there eight years ago. I prefer primitive camping myself, and I like being one with nature.
