I knew about this campground because I grew up in Rome, NY. I camped there with my parents in 1970, and I've tent camped there every July since 2001.

Describe your camping trip:

Lake Delta (as it is known to locals) has around 100 campsites in three rings, a beautiful large beach, boating, and a large picnic area for day trips. It is located about 5 miles from Rome at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.
Pros: The campground has many lakefront sites available. The scenery is picturesque. The sites are large with plenty of trees between each site.

Cons: The showerhouse and restrooms have changed very little since I camped there as a 10-year-old in 1970. If I didn't love the park so much, I might not go there because of these.
Nearby attractions: Fort Stanwix National Park, Erie Canal Village historical park with boat cruise, Fort Rickey animal petting zoo, Peter Paul Recreation Center, Utica Zoo, Adirondack Railroad, Erie Canal

Nice park but....., Member nobs866

The actual park is nice....that is it. It is a party place for the locals from Rome and Utica. There was partying till 1am, way too many people and vehicles at many sites. The staff does not enforce any of the rules.., noise, generator hours, parking per site. The final straw was the fight on the day use beach and the park police, state police and deputies there to break it up. They informed us they were there weekly. If your looking for a nice quiet family camping trip...go elsewhere!
