Hartwick Pines State Park, Grayling, Michigan

Campground Review from bILLb800SI

About.com Rating five out of Five

By David Sweet, About.com

A friend told me about this campground, and I RV camped there in August 2006.

Describe your camping trip:

There are paved roads throughout, and the sites are also paved. We stayed at a pull-thru full hook-up site (E-W-S). There are bushes and trees between most of the sites, and the perimeter sites appear remote because of all the trees and angle to back in. We heard the coyotes at night, and wild turkeys seem to be everywhere.
Pros: This campground has been all redone.

Cons: none
Nearby attractions: Logging Museum

Further comments:

Trust me this is one of Michigan's nicest state parks. There is no lake at this park, but they do have what's called a paved bicycle highway that stretches for miles.
