Big Red Barn RV Park, Carthage Missouri

Campground Review from Brian

About.com Rating five out of Five

By David Sweet, About.com

I found out about this campground through road signs, and I RV camped there in September 2006.

Describe your camping trip:

We were only going to stay one night and ended up staying three. The park is beautiful and well-maintained. There are mature trees, flowering plants, birds, squirrels and rabbits to look at. There are friendly people ready to assist you. Excellent rates. The park recently changed owners, and the new owners have plans to make it even better (if that's even possible, I thought it was great as is).
Pros: What's not to love?

Cons: none
Nearby attractions: the town of Carthage is only minutes away. What a neat little town. Antique shopping, historical sites, and more city parks than you can shake a stick at. There is a championship golf course that we wanted to check out, but we didn't have time. We will definitely go next time.

Further comments:

We highly recommend stopping at this park whenever you're near southwest Missouri.
