I found out about this campground from brochures at rest stops, and I camped there in October 2006.
Describe your camping trip:
My family stayed at Lake D'Arbonne for a week and thoroughly enjoyed this wooded state park. The restrooms are clean, and the campsites are well-kept. Reservations are accepted although not needed at this time of the year.
Pros: Spotless well-maintained campground. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Fishing is great. Several fishing piers are available in the park. The rental cabins are beautiful.
Cons: no sewer hookups.
Cons: no sewer hookups.
Nearby attractions: there's a game preserve for hunting deer.
Further comments:
Campers have thrown soda cans into the lake along the banks making for a less clean environment.
