I found out about this campground through a Web search, and I RV camped there in October 2006.
Describe your camping trip:
We're full-time RVers spending the winter here. It's a wonderful, spacious campground with immaculate large laundry, bathrooms and clubhouse. The owner is wonderful and helpful. Weather is terrific with relatively low humidity compared to the Gulf Coast, where we spent last winter. You can camp right on the river or back further in the trees, where it's a bit more peaceful. There's a great view of Mt. Baldy, where you can see rock climbers and search and rescue teams practicing rescues.
Pros: Very clean and large RV spaces. Full hookups. Beautifully clean and spacious bathrooms, personal showers, large and immaculate laundry, and large clubhouse. This park is only five years old. The beautiful Rio Frio river runs through the campground. It's great for tubing and fishing. Beautiful old oak trees are all over the campground. There's a scenic walking path along river in the campground. Deer, wild turkey, many birds, and armadillo walk all over the campground. This campground id pet friendly, quiet and secluded. It's 90 minutes from the Mexico border and 90 minutes to San Antonio. They have Wi-Fi for $30 a month. We are getting Dish 500 from our site in the trees. The park also has cable included in the daily/monthly price.
Cons: It's 30 miles to Wal-Mart in Uvalde, although the drive is a great, 65-mph scenic highway to get there.
