We live within an hours drive. Most people in eastern Kentucky know about Cave Run Lake and Twin Knobs campground. I RV camped there in October 2006.

Describe your camping trip:

It looks like we're not the only ones who have had a bad experience with the management after reading the review posted on Nov. 13. It's like going to a detention center. You certainly don't feel like you can even leave your campsite to walk around or drive through the other loops. The manager is extremely rude and seems to try to pick arguments with others.

I noticed that each time a site vacated the hosts would swoop in and grab the wood, even if they weren't ready to clean the site. I finally asked one of them why they were taking the wood. Here is their reply: "We the Hosts have orders from the Manager to remove all left-over firewood each time the site vacates so that the next camper will buy wood from the campground. We have to take it up on the hill away from everyone." How sad.

Pros: Beautiful lake. Nice spacious wooded campsites. You're not right on top of the RV next door.

Cons: Management. We've seen a huge difference since RRM took over the campground. Nice laundry facility, but it's not open during the full camping season. During the last 30 days of the season loops are closed and everyone is crowded into one loop. As it fills then the next one is opened. There are so many beautiful sites that overlook the lake, but they're closed.
Nearby attractions: Hiking, biking, boating, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing.

Going to have to find somewhere else, if things don't change.
