I found out about this campground surfing the Internet, and I RV camped there in January 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
The campground is small, but it's under renovation. Located right on a flowing creek bed. All RV sites have water and electric only. They have an awesome general store and tavern with live music on weekends. The camp trip was great. We watched gray whales migrate down the coast during the day, and we had a fire pit going under the stars at night.
Pros: Pretty secluded in an awesome location in the heart of Big Sur. Free hot showers and clean bathrooms.
Cons: Really tight and steep entrance. One way traffic in and out.

Nearby attractions: Big Sur, whale watching, local shops, and the Pacific Ocean are all minutes away.
Further comments:
This place is really awesome for those not extremely picky about the small things in life. If you want a place to stay for cheap in the off-season (20 bucks) so you can relax by the creek, go to the beach, shop local markets, drink a cold beer in the tavern, and get away from the city madness, then go check it out. You won't be disappointed, if you truly like being outdoors.
