I found out about this campground from a family member, and I tent camped there in June 2006.
Describe your camping trip:
Sites were spacious and well placed. Bath house in center of campground has hot showers, which is very nice when traveling with children. Very wooded, easy to walk around in. Stream runs along one side of campground.
Pros: Lots of trees at campsites to hang hammocks from. Lots of wildlife that don't run the minute they see you. Wonderful hiking trails, you won't get bored. There is a natural waterslide, bring trashbags, they make you slide faster.
Cons: Popups are allowed, and some use generators in the evening, which can distract from the peace and quiet.

Nearby attractions: Stone Mountain with its granite dome. The Blue Ridge Parkway. Near Boone, NC.
Further comments:
It is my absolute favorite camping site in North Carolina.
