I found out about this campground from friends, and I cabin camped there in June 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Describe your camping trip:
Very nice family oriented campground. South Fork of Rio Grande runs through the middle of it. We stayed in a cabin, but there are lots of RV spaces with full hookup from large open areas to areas with lots of trees.
Pros: Lots of things to do both inside the campground and in the nearby areas. Only registered guests are allowed in. Must have a sticker on window. Lots of safe activities for kids (and kids at heart). Located in a beautiful area.
Nearby attractions: Sand Dunes, Cumbres and Toltec Steam Railroad, Creede (town and old mining area), Wolf Creek Pass, Pagosa Springs, nearby fishing lakes and rivers, float trips.
Great for families with kids. Lots of activities within the secure campground, so kids can entertain themselves while adults rest. Many stocked trout fishing ponds on property, miniature golf, horseshoes, paddle boats, bike rental, etc.
