I found out about this campground in the Trailer Life Campground Directory, and I RV camped there in October 2006.

Describe your camping trip:

We camp at this RV Park every fall, usually the second week in October. This is apple time in the valley, and we always stay at Walnut Hills. The campground is immaculate and well-maintained. The owners are very pleasant and accommodating. We always camp on one of the full hook-up sites that back up to their lake. Every morning a very large flock of Canadian geese land on the lake and stay throughout the day. Around 5:30 pm or so they start gathering in groups, and one by one the groups take flight and leave until the following morning. It's awesome to watch. Campers set their lawn chairs out by the lake and wait for the show to begin. This campground offers full hook-up sites as well as water/electric sites that run along the streams in the park. Cable service is available, and their bathhouse is spotless. The park is somewhat small in comparison to other campgrounds, but that only adds to the rural quaintness, charm and lush greenery surrounding the park.
Pros: Just about everything.

Cons: nothing
Nearby attractions: Lots of historical sightseeing as well as the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway.

Further comments:

I highly encourage others to check this gem out for themselves, you won't be disappointed.
