Campground Review from Emily Graham

Guide Rating - rating
I live in the area and had driven by this campground several times. I tent camped there in August 2006.

Describe your camping trip:

This campground is beautiful. It is right off the highway and close to everything (Mt. Rushmore, Keystone, Black Hills). It is situated on a quiet small lake that is great for a rowboat or canoe. The fishing is also great. It is connected to one of the largest trail systems in South Dakota, so this really is a great place to be for a hiker. This campground has many shade trees and beautiful campsites.
Pros: Everything. It has many outdoor recreational activities right at your fingertips including fishing, boating, hiking and scenic drives.

Cons: This campground is not open year round, and it is pretty close to the highway although still very secluded and peaceful.
Nearby attractions: Mt. Rushmore, Jewel Cave National Monument, Custer State Park, Harney Peak

Further comments:

My time there has been and will continue to be awesome.
