I found out about this campground on the Washington state parks Web site, and I tent camped there in June 2006.
Describe your camping trip:
The park is about a mile outside of a small town on lake Sylvia. We could fish from the site.
Pros: Sites are nice and clean. We were able to see pictures of the campsite on the Web site. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Not a lot of privacy in each site, but other campers were nice and friendly.
Cons: Not a lot of privacy in each site, but other campers were nice and friendly.
Nearby attractions: Close to ocean beaches, stores and espresso stands in nearby town of Montesano, easy car ride to Aberdeen and Hoquiam for a nice day trip.
Further comments:
The lake was beautiful, and we were visited in the evening by otters (we think) swimming two feet away from the entrance to our tent. I think Roscoe (our Lab) got a little freaked out by the strange smelling water dogs. He tried to talk to them in a wierd whisper bark that he has never used before. I think he was asking them what they were and would they like to play fetch the ball?
