Camp Timber Lake, Huntington, Indiana

Campground Review from Candy

About.com Rating four out of Five

By David Sweet, About.com

I found out about this campground from their Web site, and I camped there in April 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

The campground is small, but very serene, quiet and relaxing. Current owner has only owned the campground for three years. It used to be a fishing area only. The campsites are small, but all the fishing, swimming, hiking and boating more than make up for the small spaces. We never felt cramped. If it's peace and quiet you want, then this is the place for you.
Pros: New clean shower houses, plenty of hot water. Peaceful, beautiful area, great fishing, canoeing, hiking. New owners and grounds keeper extremely friendly. They are all working very hard to make this a wonderful campground.

Cons: Small sites.
Nearby attractions: Fort Wayne In. 25 miles away, Indianapolis 82 miles, Dan Quayle Musuem, Forks of the Wabash.

Further comments:

Don't let the lack of attractions stop you from visiting. If it's R and R you're looking for, this is the place.
