I found out about this campground from my sister, and I camped there the last 20 years.
Describe your camping trip:
Our family has camped at Ludington State Park in all three campgrounds for the past 20 years. Our children are now bringing their children. We all pick a weekend together each year and go. There are over 120 of us now that go to that beautiful state park. We have a common meal on Saturday, but otherwise we fish, tube, canoe, hike, swim, boat or whatever, with our siblings, cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles. We have a grand time. Now the family feels they are not getting enough time together, so about two years ago some decided to come in on a Thursday and leave on Monday or Tuesday. It's great being together in a place that has such a diversity of things to do and see. We even have certain trees that are must visit spots to my grown grandchildren.Pros: Diversity of camp sites. Some near the dunes, some near the river, some near the lake. The place is huge.
Cons: We've been coming for 20 years. Not too much wrong with the place.

Nearby attractions: Two light houses, city pier, a wonderful interactive visitors center.
