This campground is the talk of the town, and I tent camped there in June 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

I thought the staff there was very friendly. The office did leave a bit to be desired, but they were currently constructing a new office.
Pros: They had a swimming pool, swing set, walking trails, pool and field volleyball. The tent sites had large fire rings with grills on them. The facilities were kept neat. They had a picnic shelter and picnic tables on almost all of the sites. They had hot showers. The campground is in a very ideal location since it is far enough from the road to not have a lot of noise pollution. They have a ten o'clock quiet hour, so if you wanted to get a good night's sleep rowdy guests wouldn't be a problem. They also had a catch and release fishing pond. They were located right on the river, so fishing was plentiful. They had Wi-Fi, in case I needed to check up on anything on the Internet. Also, they offered tubing, canoeing and kayaking trips and shuttle service. These folks were great.

Cons: none
Nearby attractions: It's just about equal driving distance from Greensboro, Winston Salem, Martinsville and High Point. It's also close to Emerald Point.

Further comments:

I really enjoyed my stay. Dan River Campground and their river trips are a blast. I would definitely recommend this campground.
