Campground Review from Jesse

Guide Rating - rating
I live nearby this campground, and I tent camped there in May 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

Beech Fork State Park is West Virginia's largest campground with four different campgrounds and a total of 275 sites. Old Orchard offers full hook up, while Four Coves, part of Moxley Branch, and Lakeview offer electric hookup. The other part of Moxley has no electric. About 1/4 to 1/3 of the sites are lakefront with some boat docking posts. Fishing and boating is very popular here. There is a camp store, lots of bathroom and showers and some laundry facilities.
Pros: Very large, but still very busy. Staff are helpful and nice, and it is overall secure. Lots of lakefront sites and the facilities and sites are top-notch.

Cons: Can get crowded on weekends.
Nearby attractions: The other side of the lake offers lots of boat rentals, but it is a decent drive away. Huntington and Barboursville have lots of dining and shopping.

Further comments:

This is an overall great campground.
