I found out about this campground through friends, and I tent camped there in June 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
The campground borders Lake Shelbyville, which is a huge 10+ mile lake. There are several different areas of the campground. Some are closer to the beach area while others are closer to huge cliffs that fall off into the lake. There are also more secluded sites too. We rented a pontoon boat (all the bass boats were already taken) and fished for an entire day. We also had time to pick up our wives and kids for a bit and let them tour the lake. We made s'mores at night, chased crazy raccoons, ate awesome food, and had great conversation. It was a perfect trip.Pros: Very clean and well maintained. Good-sized sites. The lake is so incredibly beautiful. The beach area is a great place to spend the day. There is plenty of room for kids to swim safely. Fishing is very good. You can do it from the shore or bring (or rent) your boat. There is a playground for kids to play.
Cons: There is nothing that is really a con for this campground. The only thing that would be an improvement is to update the showers, but it's not bad enough to keep you from coming.

Nearby attractions: The actual town of Shelbyville is 10-15 minutes away where you can access a super Wal-Mart and a few mom and pop restaurants, which are very good.
