I found out about this campground on the state park Web site, and I tent camped there in June 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
We drove six hours to get to this campground. When we arrived, our sites were no more than a strip of grass on a huge lawn (no trees). There was a football field type lawn with campsites every 20 feet. No trees, no shade, no privacy. The state park itself is lovely, and there are some nice wooded sites along a hillside. We were so disappointed with the sites that we did not camp there. We went to a private campground, which we passed on our drive to the park.
Pros: They do have some nice wooded sites, but I would avoid the sites along the river. The park itself is lovely.
Cons: No privacy, no shade, no trees in the sites along the river. Just a strip of grass that is so close to your neighbors site you are practically sitting at their table for dinner. Horrible sites.

Further comments:
Avoid the river sites at all costs they are some of the worst I have ever seen. If we had been unable to change campgrounds, we would have returned home (six hour drive). We would not camp there. They were very nice in the office. Although they were unable to change our sites due to full occupancy, they did offer us a refund on the fees we paid.
