I have visited this campground many times.
Pros: This was my favorite campground of any I have ever visited. It was a very nice environment, just lovely. In fact, on my recommendation many folks have gone and enjoyed this campground, but not anymore.
Cons: Over this past winter, Drummer Boy changed ownership. I had a feeling from my trip there in April that things were different. The staff wasn't quite as friendly and seemed to lack any real knowledge about the campground or surrounding area. Furthermore, the best campsites right by the lake were now seasonal sites. What really astounded me were the prices: $65 dollars a night for special weekends. Here is the real irony of ironies, there are at least five more great campgrounds in the immediate vicinity that offer the same exact amenities at $20 cheaper a night. But wait it gets better, I made my reservation on a Monday, and I cancelled them on Friday of the same week. Four days had past and they charged me a $25 fee.

I and my family have been going to this campground for almost 20 years. I will never go back. Instead I am going to the Gettysburg KOA. I will let you know how I fare at this location. I can't imagine it could be worse.
