A popular though still relatively quiet and nice park we've known for a long time We tent camped there in June 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

We found a good campsite nestled in between an outgrowth of trees. Good green grass, a firepit and even ground at least at that spot. The park has many amenities including a few potable water pumps around, a modern bathroom with showers with many outhouses here and there, an amphitheater showing movies on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as fishing access to the Missouri River.
Pros: Missouri River access for boat and fishing, many hiking trails, a neat cave (although you can only see from the outside, many snakes inside I heard), an old town historic site, a great overlook, it was nice and quiet considering how many people where there. Had a good staff there too.

Cons: As seems the style now, a great emphasis is on RV campers in Nebraska parks instead of the poor folks, although many good tent sites are available compared to other parks. Be aware of lots of wildlife including opossums, raccoons, bobcats in the forests, as well as possible water moccasins near the river. Although its probably trivial it is downstream from a nuke plant a few miles up river.
Nearby attractions: Historic Brownsville, Nebraska is to the north. There is a neat riverboat there as well as some shopping. More amenities can be found about 20 miles northwest at Auburn or 20 miles south in Falls City. Across the river from Brownsville is Rock Port, Missouri whose I-29 interchange offers hotels and at least a McDonald's (I'd say about 20 miles as well).

Further comments:

It's getting to be a busy park, but it is spread out nicely over hills blocking much of the noise. A good place to camp from tent up to RV.
