Apache Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Campground Review from Christa

About.com Rating five out of Five

By David Sweet, About.com

I knew about this campground because my parents stayed here when I was young. I RV camp there all the time.

Describe your camping trip:

This campground is great. There is another review listed that states the campground doesn't follow its own rules. That's not true. The dog rule states specific breeds that are not allowed, not all big dogs. Quiet time is 12 pm not 11 pm. The pier closes at 11 pm after the live entertainment is finished. The entertainment is nightly from 7-11 pm. The bathhouses are as clean as a bathhouse can be at the beach. There is a play area/park at the pool, where all the kids hang out. The camp store is open until 11 pm. Maybe the other review was based on a trip during the off season.
Pros: Things to do for the kids daily. Entertainment nightly on the pier. Arcade on the pier. The pier in general is a pro.

Cons: You must park the golf cart at 12 pm when quiet time starts, however you can still walk around, if you want to.
Nearby attractions: Tanger outlets, walking sidewalk beside a neighboring golf course all the way to the outlet area. Wal-Mart is 2 or 3 minutes away Tons of restaurants are nearby. Campground is near to both Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing.

Further comments:

I recommend Apache to anyone looking for a laid back camping experience.
