Apache Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Campground Review from Pam

About.com Rating one out of Five

By David Sweet, About.com

I found out about this campground on the Internet, and I camped there in July 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

Apache Campground is horrible. My family stayed in a leisure living unit. It was nothing like described. We thought we would be staying in a campground, not a trailer park. It was a very dirty place with abandoned trucks and piled up junk behind the leisure living unit we stayed in. The unit was dirty. We had to clean it before we could unpack. And it was infested with roaches. The lounge and the store were a joke, as was the restaurant. Everything is outdated and very trashy. The pool very dirty. This campground is nothing like it looks on the Web site. They need to redo the Web page or the campground.
Pros: The ocean.

Cons: It was dirty and had little bags of dog poop laying everywhere on the side of the streets for days. It's more like a trailer park. The leisure living units are nasty. Dirty place, and the beach had trash everywhere.
Nearby attractions: Barefoot Landing was great as was Broadway at the Beach. A little bit of a drive to attractions.

Further comments:

I would say don't stay at this campground. Check others nearby, they are much nicer and well worth the money. Our family had a great time just because we were together. Please don't believe what you see on the Web site, it is so not true. We have stayed at a lot of campgrounds in many different places, and I have never been as disappointed as I was of this one.
