I found out about this campground on my last trip, and I RV camped there in August 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

Pros: Campground is nice with good facilities.

Cons: Traffic inside campground was horrible. Literally thousands of golf carts. Unable to walk anywhere without having to deal with teenagers on golf carts with loud stereos. Also had items stolen from site two nights in a row. On-site security has no control of campground.
Nearby attractions: Myrtle Beach

Further comments:

I have camped at every campground at Myrtle Beach over the past 40 years. I will not return to Ocean Lakes. Unless you like to camp in a city setting, this is not the campground for you.

We won't be backJune 22, 2009By reisser
"My husband & I enjoyed our stay previously and were anxious to return. This time we did not. first there were fireworks set off every night beginning at dusk and didn't let up until on or after eleven pm. We didn't understand this because it states in their policy NO FIREWORKS?? Where is their 24 hr security???? Not only did we have to put up with that noise we also had to put up with the constant screaming/yelling, not only was the noise ridiculous...to add insult to injury.... our cooler was stolen from our site. This, I need to advise was not an isolated incident. Our neighbors had their radio stolen the day before our cooler was taken, down from us a family had their grill stolen, another had their blower stolen.... these all happened within days of each other....all were reported with no resolution and Ocean Lakes never responded nor contacted us. There is no doubt in my mind... several families will not be returning to Ocean Lakes."
