Bear Den Campground, Spruce Pine, North Carolina

Campground Review from Hal

About.com Rating one out of Five

By David Sweet, About.com

I found out about this campground in the Trailer Life directory, and I RV camped there in August 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

We did not camp here, see below.
Pros: Finally getting out of campground with no damage to vechicle and camper.

Cons: Roads, curves, uneven gravel and steep inclines. No direction road signs and no personnel to direct you to a site.
Nearby attractions: Blue Ridge Parkway.

Further comments:

We asked for a refund, because we were not told the sites did not have sewer. We could not stay without sewer, and none was available. We assumed when we made a reservation for $35.00 a night that we would have sewer. No refund, they got us for $39.50. Their brochure states: "why take a vacation, when you can have an adventure." We had all the adventure we could stand getting in and out of this place. Please, if you value your rig, do not go here.
