I was referred to this campground by the South Dakota Parks and Recreation, and I tent camped there in August 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

The campground was nice and hidden off of the interstate. It was a little tight, however we thought that we found a nice place. It is a mom and pop set up.
Pros: Cell phones had no reception. Quiet area. Good place for canoeing and floating.

Cons: No place close to get last minute items and ice. Office manager was rude and not very hospitable. No tube rentals for floating.

Further comments:

I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of a dog yelping and screaming. Come to find out that the owner had placed raccoon traps behind his bait shop so animals wouldn't eat his tomatoes. He had no concern for the dog's well being. Also there had been kids playing in that area all weekend. This is unsafe.
