I found out about this campground in Woodall's, and I RV camped there from March to September 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
We travel full time in our RV, and we had jobs in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Finding a decent campground was difficult, so we were fortunate to come to Gig Harbor. The campground is convenient to both 16 and I5 without the noise. From here you can easily explore the South Puget sound area as well as The Olympics. The campground is very clean and well run with friendly knowledgeable staff. There are grocery stores, Target and a new Costco nearby. You can walk to the picturesque Gig Harbor and explore the little shops or rent a boat. Campers were a mixture of both families and retirees. Long term campers had to have newer rigs and were not allowed to have stuff accumulate around their site.
Pros: Clean and easy access.
Cons: No Wi-Fi. Sunday and Thursday afternoon gun club nearby.
Cons: No Wi-Fi. Sunday and Thursday afternoon gun club nearby.
Nearby attractions: Gig Harbor, lots of State Parks and National Parks within easy drive. Tacoma Narrows. Tacoma 20 minutes and downtown Seattle an hour away.
Further comments:
Some of our fellow campers were staying at the campground while receiving medical treatment at nearby hospitals.
