We found out about this campground from Mary's review on this site, and despite her review we decided to check it out. We RV camped there in October 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
The campground is in an older area of town that is slowly being refurbished (like all major cities). There is no grass on the site, but then it is not a place where you would put out lawn chairs and there is never any mud.
Pros: The owners are absolute sweethearts and native to St. Louis, so they are great tour guides. The bathrooms are immaculate (the second best I have ever seen). It is surrounded by a ton of grassy areas for the dogs. There is a six foot fence surrounding the place and a cop shop across the street, so you certainly feel secure.
Cons: They don't offer full cable, but then they are in a major city, so you get most of the majors, and I didn't go to St. Louis to watch TV.

Nearby attractions: You are close to everything: The Arch and downtown, (a short bus ride away, so no need for parking), the Bud brewery tour, the zoo and the historic park, the museum and the French Quarter.
