Friends of ours had camped here and said it was a great park, and we RV camped there in November 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

We were coming in close to Thanksgiving, and we called ahead and asked about a large site for our 43-foot rig. Frank was very helpful in telling us about the park. We had gone online as well, and he said that if we came in he would find us a spot, even if all the reservable sites were taken. We arrived two days later, and he had gotten a cancellation. We were given a cart to drive around and see the site prior to accepting it. He was a great help. We saw the site and immediately said, "Yes." It was beautiful, as is the campground. We overlooked the lake and had a huge site, as most of them are in the section they have just enlarged and redone. We intended to stay for a couple of nights. We stayed nine nights and enjoyed the park very much. It is well worth the diversion off of I-20 at Marshall in eastern Texas up through Jefferson, which is a gorgeous back-in-time town with great people. It rained all weekend, but come Monday the sun came out and the park was once again a place of beauty. We had great campfires and a very relaxing time.

We recommend it highly as one we will most definitely return to, if the Lord is willing. Enjoy this great park. We sure did.
