Kiptopeke State Park, Cape Charles, Virginia

Campground Review from Heidi

About.com Rating five out of Five

By David Sweet, About.com

I found out about this campground on the Internet, and I RV camped there in September 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

My husband and I and our 7 children stayed at this campground in September of 2007. The RV section of the campground itself had mostly open, grassy sites, which I don't care for, but when we visited it was practically empty, and we were able to get a great big shady site. The tent camping section is really nice and woodsy. The weather was still warm enough to play at the beach, so we did that and had a great time. We also fished off the beach. The Kiptopeke State Park has a nice playground, which is a short walk from the campsites.
Pros: Nice clean restrooms and showers, beautiful scenery.

Cons: none
Nearby attractions: This part of the country is absolutely beautiful.

Further comments:

I loved this campground so much that I wanted to stay another night.
