I live about 30 minutes from this campground, and I RV camped there in August 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
The campsites are big and have lots of trees, and it's very peaceful at night. I go there as often as possible.
Pros: Being a state park, I can fish for free off the bank or from the fishing pier. You can rent a canoe or kayak. There is a small store where you can buy firewood. You can even rent a bike for two.
Cons: As of this writing, there are a few sites that are closed due to all the rain we had a few months back.

Nearby attractions: Texas Motor Speedway is about 40 minutes south, and the Red River and Oklahoma are about 45 minutes to the north.
Further comments:
It's a beautiful park with a big lake, but you don't have the boat traffic like a lot of lakes. They have a nice beach area and lots of picnic spots. I have seen deer, raccoons, squirrels and armadillos along with all types of birds.
